MUCH more to come!

So... I have been dealing with a whole lot lately. And I went into hibernation mode, survival mode if you will. And I have a lot of catching up to do! So I have posted a few blogs today; there will be much more to come. For now, I must relinquish my hold on this computer for Bryan to work (he's doing some graphic designing on the side... yay!). So stay tuned for much more within the next few days!

Mr. Wigglesworth

Orion is so WIGGLY!!! He is so ready to crawl... he's even wigglier than Lincoln was; I never knew that was possible! Orion doesn't like to sit in one's lap, he only likes to stand. And stick his dagger toes into the soft flesh of your thigh. Then he likes to bounce. I guess it's hereditary, because my parents said all their kids did that to them too!
He has been 'rocking' from side to side while on his tummy for weeks. It is rare that I get a clear shot of him; Photoshop won't even fix it. He is rarin' to GO!

GANGTSA' (he is even wearing a thug 'beanie' and flashing gang signs... classic! :)

He also cut his first tooth on July 4th. Happy Independence, Incisor tooth! You made it all the way to the top! (there are no pictures to document this momentous occasion; see previous explanation! All the pictures I attempted just turned out super blurry)

And, he kicks. Constantly. It's funny, because when he tries to crawl, he extends his legs fully, leaving his poor face eating dirt. He still can't figure out that he has to have his hands and arms support his upper body at the same time. But it's still really cute! And he doesn't really have too many problems getting anywhere this way, it just takes him half an hour!

David Beckham has nothing on this kid!

Orion is just so cute right now. People stop me all the time to tell me how adorable and beautiful he is. Lincoln of course gets a little jealous...

Lincoln staking his claim as firstborn. Orion is obviously not too thrilled.

Oh what fun it is to have two rough and tumble boys!

A whole lotta "what the?"

So a few posts ago, I wrote a rather depressing entry about financial difficulties. I won't go into major detail here, but basically we're hurting pretty bad because of the economy and being new business owners. And what happens? On June 27, Bryan gets rear-ended. In my brother's truck. By a drunk driver. Who is an illegal. Who has no insurance, no drivers license, and no ID whatsoever on him. And since it was my bro's truck (and not Bryan's), Bryan is not officially on the insurance policy, so it's still up in the air whether or not his injuries will be covered.

Couldn't get any better, right?

Well, because of this rear end, Bryan hurt his back, so that means not being able to work, which means because of our self employed status we are not eligible for state disability, which means (you guessed it) even less money coming in. So, can we say, stressed???

This is the damage done to my brother's vehicle. The perpetrator (ha! love it) turned a corner at about 45ish MPH and hit Bryan at an angle (who was stopped at a red light), then stopped in the middle of the street, got out of his own car, took a pee at the side of the road, then staggered off on foot. Because of that action, he is now considered a DUI/DWI hit and run. Heavy stuff!

This is a picture of what happened to his car. No wonder he left it!

This whole year really has been a trial of faith for me. I must be hard pressed to learn something because it's obviously taking a while for Heavenly Father to get His point across! So, that's where we stand right now. At least we still love each other! :)

Play my game!

Okay, I have been seeing this a lot on people's blogs, and I wanted to join in on the fun! And feel free to plagarize this idea; I did! :)

This will be fun especially if everyone and I do mean EVERYONE will join in! This is just too fun to pass up. Here are the directions:

1. Add a comment on my blog, leave a memory that you and I had together or that you have of me. It doesn't matter if you knew me a little or a lot, anything you remember, good or bad but be nice!!!!!!!
2. Next, re-post these instructions on your blog. If you don't want to play on your blog, or if you don't have a blog, I'll leave my memory of you in my comments. Let's see who can come up with the funniest memory and who has the most memories. Please keep it going. ENJOY :)

Tender mercies

I am so behind in my blog and I will eventually catch up, but I wanted to write this before the moment passed.

I am a leader in my wards nursery, and there are a LOT of kids! The average number comes to about 14 (that's kids under 2, we have jr & sr nursery because of the high volume!). Since they are so young, it can be a challenge to teach lessons at their understanding level. Anyway, last week it was my turn to teach, and the topic was about families being together forever, with emphasis on the temple. So during their snack time (which is when we teach the lesson; they are all sitting down and quiet!), I told them about the temple and how we make promises with Heavenly Father there, and how when we are sealed to our families, that means we can give hugs and kisses to our mommies and daddies and siblings forever and ever and ever (I know, totally basic level!). Then I passed out a picture of the temple that they could color if they wanted to. A lot of times in nursery, you wonder if you get anything across at all since they are so young and at different development levels. Then Lincoln (who is in my nursery class) did something just now that reaffirmed to me that I was in the right place.

All week, he has been saying at random times "te-home". I had no idea what he was trying to say, because he didn't point at anything, and he is usually really good at articulating his words. But today before dinner, he points to the fridge and says it again: "te-home". Then it totally dawned on me. He was pointing to our San Diego Temple fridge magnet! Just that little gesture was enough for me to get all teary-eyed. He was listening! He understood!

My crazy, energetic, fearless, totally BOY, gets-into-everything (and yes, that's daddy's razor he's 'using'. Apparently he is at the mimicking stage.) firstborn was listening to me teach about the temple. And he got it! Even as I write this, I am overcome with emotion.

Life has not been easy to say the least these past few months. Bryan and I are trying to stay positive and faithful that everything will work itself out, but anyone who has gone through very difficult times knows what it feels like to be up nights worrying about the future.

But amidst all this, I know that Heavenly Father is real. I know He loves me, and He knows I'm doing the best that I know how to at this moment in life's journey. I know He is waiting to bless me with everything He has. I know that He will make up for what I lack. And I am so grateful that He gives us these tender mercies for us to refocus our energies. I love my family and I am so grateful for them!

I hope that this silly little post will help other people in whatever hard thing they are faced with. I know that Heavenly Father is mindful of us all, even when we think He has forgotten us completely sometimes. Take heart! He really is on your team, and He wants to help you succeed!
